AC's Confusing Ideology
I try and I try, but I just can't understand the political and economic philosophy of Channel 2's supposedly conservative blogger AC Kleinheider.
In this post and many more like it, AC rails against the subsidizing of corporations. That anti-corporate message gets lots of cheers and back slaps from his beloved brethren on the left. I happen to agree that American corporations should not be subsidized, but my beliefs are based on principle. AC's statements seem to be based on a hatred for corporations, a hatred he shares with the far left.
If you think that I am out of line to accuse AC of lacking principle, then read this post. In it, AC states that "...there is nothing wrong with an equal and modest revenue tariff on all foreign goods to equal the playing field a smidge...". What is a tariff? Is a tariff not a subsidy?
AC claims to be a conservative, but I just can't figure out what kind. Is he a free market libertarian conservative? Apparently not. Does he associate capitalism with conservatism? Obviously not. People tend to get their panties all wadded up when I write about what they believe. But since AC is all over this place, I can't help but take a guess.
Republicans are bad. Corporations, like the one he works for, are bad. All war is bad, unless bombs start dropping on Murfreesboro Rd. Immigration is bad. Foreigners are bad. Free trade is bad. Evangelical conservatives are bad. Subsidizing American business is bad, I mean good. Oh forget about it. I give up.
